]]>Deadline reports that the streaming service has tapped Corey Fogelmanis (Ma), Annie Q. (The Leftovers), Jessi Case (Mother’s Day), Julian Works (9-1-1), Philip Labes (The OA), and Hugo Armstrong (Fear the Walking Dead) to star in its School Spirit installment out August 2nd.
The episode follows a group of social outcasts who are stuck in weekend detention and then confronted by the school’s legendary hauntings. The Mike Gan-helmed installment was penned by Patrick Casy and Josh Miller.
The project consists of 12 movie-length episodes that will be released monthly over one year. According to the outlet, each installment will be inspired by a holiday and will feature Blumhouse’s signature thriller spin on the story.

The comedy about a family on the Isle of Wight follows Simon (Wilkinson), who is taking his girlfriend Donna (Morgan) back home for the very first time.
According to Deadline, there they’ll spend a long weekend as guests of his doting mother Sue (Johnston), and controlling stepdad Ray (Ball). Simon’s father (Havers) and his new American girlfriend Melissa (Cattrall), will cause tensions to rise.
Wilkinson penned the series with David Earl.
“David and I adore writing about this oddball family who, despite their faults and differences, love each other. We can’t wait to see our dream cast bring The Cockfields to life,” he said.

]]>Variety exclusively reports that Saldana will topline the romantic comedy Keyhole Garden, which traces “the sprawling romance of a man and woman whose love for each other struggles to overcome the divisiveness of life on America’s southern border.”
Exchange CEO Brian O’Shea announced the news in Cannes. He said, “Working with Zoe and Marco on this project is very exciting for me. Both of them are extremely talented and passionate to bring this beautiful love story to life. They have an incredible team behind them to deliver a commercial and successful movie.”
Perego-Saldana will direct from an original screenplay he penned alongside Rick Rapoza.
Saldana most recently starred in The Avengers: Endgame. She is also set to reprise her role as Neytiri in the Avatar sequels.

]]>The feature adaptation from helmer Jane Campion is based on Thomas Savage’s 1967 novel that tells the story of brothers Phil (Cumberbatch) and George Burbank. The two are joint owners of the biggest ranch in their Montana valley. When George secretly marries local widow Rose (Moss), an angry Phil wages a relentless war to destroy her by using her son Peter as a pawn.
“The Power of the Dog is a sublime novel that deserves a life on the big screen. I couldn’t stop thinking about the story, it really haunted me. The themes of masculinity, nostalgia and betrayal are an intoxicating mix,” Campion said. “It’s also rare to find a story where the themes, the plot and the characters build tension as they reveal each other and even the end is satisfying and unexpected. It will be the first time I’ve worked with a male lead, which is exciting. Phil is a charismatic and complex character who declares war on his brother’s new wife and her teenage son.”
The film is set to go into pre-production at the end of the year.
It will be presented to buyers at Cannes via Cross City Films.

The nature of her role — recurring or series regular in the upcoming season, which is likely to debut in 2020, is still unclear very much in typical Westworld fashion.

]]>Multiple outlets confirm that British actor O. T. Fagbenle has been tapped to star in a lead role opposite Scarlett Johansson in Marvel’s forthcoming standalone superhero feature.
Fagbenle joins previously announced David Harbour (Stranger Things), Florence Pugh (Fighting With My Family), and Rachel Weisz.
While plot details are being under wraps, but it is known that the film will center on the origin story of Johansson’s KGB spy assassin turned SHIELD agent and an Avenger, Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow.
Australian filmmaker Cate Shortland is directing from a rewrite of Jac Schaeffer’s original script penned by Ned Benson.
Fagbenle currently stars as Luke, husband of Elisabeth Moss’ June Osborne on Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale. His other credits include BBC’s The Interceptor, HBO’s Looking and The Five currently streaming on Netflix.
Production will reportedly start June in London.

She joins the previously announced Andie MacDowell and Richard Roxburgh, who will play her parents as well as Kathleen Turner, Madeline Wise, and Usman Ally.
According to Deadline, the entire first season takes place over the course of a single night at a wedding. As viewers get to know the wedding party, they’ll “learn surprising reveals about both their present and past. We’ll see that things aren’t always what they seem and explore the complicated bonds of love, friendship, and family at different stages of life.”
Best known for her role as Summer Roberts on Fox’s The O.C, she also starred as the lead on The CW’s Hart of Dixie.

The Hunt was penned by Lost and The Leftovers scribe Damon Lindelof and Nick Cuse. Set at the helm of the thriller is Craig Zobel. Blumhouse’s Jason Blum will produce, alongside Lindelof via his White Rabbit banner. Cuse and Zobel will executive produce.
Plot and character details are kept under wraps, but The Hollywood Reporter reports that according to insiders, the “subversive script that takes its cues from the current political climate in America, elevating the current conflict between right and left wings to a violent level.”
The production is set to begin any day now and the feature is slated for an October 18 premiere.
