As the name suggests, the HBO drama is about the massive explosion that took place at the Ukrainian nuclear power plant in April 1986 and released radioactive material across Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and other parts of Europe.

The series, which stars Jared Harris and Stellar Skarsgård, has now become the highest-rated show of all-time on the Internet Movie Database (IMDb).

140,000 users of the site gave Chernobyl an average rating of 9.7 out of 10. That places the series above Breaking Bad (9.5), Planet Earth II (9.5), Band of Brothers (9.5), the original Planet Earth (9.4), Game of Thrones (9.3), and The Wire (9.3).

The five-episode limited series concluded its run on June 3rd.
