Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler have given us several amazing movies by each other’s side, and they’re gearing up for another epic collaboration. The new trailer for their upcoming period horror Sinners is here, and it sees Jordan battling vampires in the Deep South.

Sinners stars Jordan as twin brothers Elijah and Elias Smoke, returning to their hometown to start again after leaving their troubled lives behind. What should’ve been a fresh start turns into a bloody nightmare after they discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.

Sinners will reunite Jordan with the writer/director Ryan Coogler, and it marks the fifth film they made together. Jordan previously appeared in all the projects that Coogler directed, including Fruitvale Station, Creed, and Black Panther.

The new trailer makes it clear that Sinners will be a period vampire film, but there’s more to it than meets the eye. Coogler described it as “a very genre-fluid” project, adding it switches in and out of a lot of different genres and that vampires aren’t the only supernatural element.

In addition to Jordan in the lead role, Sinners also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Jack O’Connell, Wunmi Mosaku, Jayme Lawson, Omar Benson Miller, and Delroy Lindo. It will be released on April 18 via Warner Bros. Pictures.
