Multiple outlets confirm that Goran Višnjić is set to star as the iconic Count Dracula in The Brides. He joins previously announced Gina Torres and Katherine Reis.

The Brides, a contemporary reimagining of the Dracula story, follows a trio of empowered, immortal women — the brides of Dracula — and the things they do to maintain wealth, prestige legacy and their nontraditional family.

In the series, the powerful, ageless, and iconic King of Night who “turned” each of his three brides, Višnjić’s Dracula is left for dead at his destroyed castle in the Carpathian mountains while his three wives flee to start a new life together.

Visnjic’s other TV credits include ER, Extant and Santa Clarita Diet.

Multiple outlets confirm that Josh Segarra has been cast in one of the lead roles in the upcoming pilot from NBC.  

The series, like the film, follows a unique mix of adults at a night school GED prep class who unexpectedly bond over their shared experience and find themselves helping each other both inside and outside of the classroom.

Segarra will portray the character played by Kevin Hart’s character in the film — a charming salesman named Teddy Walker. He joins previously announced Shanola Hampton who will play the teacher (the role played by Tiffany Haddish in the film), Collette Wolfe, James Earl, and Joe Massingill.

Segarra’s television credits include Arrow, Orange Is the New Black, The Moodys, The Other Two, Chicago PD, Sirens and the recently canceled AJ and the Queen.

Gina Torres is set to lead the cast of The Brides, a Dracula reimagining from Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Berlanti Productions, and Warner Bros. Television.

The project described as a contemporary reimagining of Dracula with a trio of female leads will follow these immortal women and the things they do to maintain wealth, prestige, legacy, and their non-traditional family.

Torres plays Cleo Phillips, one of the three Brides of Dracula and the leader of this vampire trio. Cleo is an imperious woman with a queenly manner —understandably, as she was a queen in her former life who was turned by Dracula after the death of her husband. Now a maven of New York City real estate, Cleo is challenged professionally by a mysterious newcomer — even as her ties to her sisters are dangerously fraying.

In addition to Suits, Torres also recently played Jessica Pearson in its spinoff series Pearson. Her other credits include The Catch, Revenge, and Westwood.

Sophia Bush has been tapped to star as the lead in the medical drama from Katie Wech, Jennie Snyder Urman and her Sutton St. Productions. 

The medical drama follows Sam (Bush), a gifted heart surgeon, and her relationship with her domineering father, who happens to work in the same hospital. Second in command to him and always in his shadow, Sam rises to the occasion when he falls into a coma and she takes charge of the department as chief of surgery. Sam comes into her own professionally and personally, however, her world is upturned again after Griff awakens and wants to practice again, even if it means being supervised by his daughter.

Good Sam marks a return to the network for Bush, who starred in the network’s drama pilot Surveillance in 2019.

The O.C. alumna has joined the dramedy pilot tentatively titled  Lovestruck. Bilson is set to play the female lead, aka the bride in the wedding night series. Bilson’s bride is described as a “bolt of pure sunshine,” sweet and thoughtful yet assertive. 

She joins the previously announced Andie MacDowell and Richard Roxburgh, who will play her parents as well as Kathleen Turner, Madeline Wise, and Usman Ally.

According to Deadline, the entire first season takes place over the course of a single night at a wedding. As viewers get to know the wedding party, they’ll “learn surprising reveals about both their present and past. We’ll see that things aren’t always what they seem and explore the complicated bonds of love, friendship, and family at different stages of life.”

Best known for her role as Summer Roberts on Fox’s The O.C, she also starred as the lead on The CW’s Hart of Dixie.

The Daredevil star is set to play Mark, a roguish, highly successful Deputy District Attorney whose best friend and colleague Lola has been just been appointed a judge. Never great with boundaries, Mark struggles with the personal and professional changes in their relationship.

The series follows only child Julia Bechley (Snow)as she discovers that that her father, a pioneering Nobel Prize-winning fertility doctor, used his own sperm to conceive dozens of children over the course of his career. Julia discovers that among the sea of new brothers, she  only has two sisters — her former best friend and an ex-Olympic athlete, and the three women quickly become a part of a new untraditional family. 

The Australian series starred Maria Angelico. The first season premiered in October 2017. It was then launched on Netflix in September 2018.
