Syfy Cancels “Deadly Class” & “Happy!”

Christopher Meloni and Patton Oswalt in "Happy!"

Syfy has canceled Happy! after two seasons and Deadly Class after one.

The two dramas join other recent cancellations at NBC Universal-owned cable network including Nightflyers, Channel Zero and Killjoys.

According The Hollywood Reporter, both dramas will be shopped by Universal Content Productions and Sony TV, respectively.

The Christopher Meloni-led series Happy! is based on the comic of the same name by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson. It revolved around a corrupt ex-cop-turned-hit-man named Nick Sax (Meloni) and a tiny blue unicorn named Happy, voiced by Patton Oswalt.

According to the outlet, the decision to cancel follows the show’s low rating.

Deadly Class, based on the Image Comics graphic novel of the same name by Rick Remender and Wesley Craig, followed an orphan who becomes a student assassin at King’s Dominion High School for the Deadly Arts.

It starred Lana Condor, Benjamin Wadsworth and Benedict Wong. Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo executive produced the show.
