It has been announced that M. Night Shyamalan will be producing a new psychological thriller series from writer Tony Basgallop. The series will feature ten half-hour episodes and Shyamalan will be directing the first episode. He will work as the executive producer with other big and new names including Escape Artist’s Steve Tisch.

Shyamalan has previously only worked once in television. His Fox series Wayward Pines was canceled after only two seasons. He is better known for his blockbusters, including cult classic The Sixth Sense. Earlier last year, he wrote, directed and produced the psychological thriller Split which starred James McAvoy as a man with 23 personalities. The movie made reference to his earlier title Unbreakable and we can expect a sequel in January 2019.

We can’t tell you much about the new TV series, as the plot, along with any giveaway details are being kept quiet. What we can tell you is that the show will be the latest high-profile project from Apple. It looks like the new show might be part of Apple’s plan to compete with Amazon and Netflix. The release date is not yet on the radar but we are keeping our eyes peeled for more information.
