“Labyrinth” Set to Return to Movie Theaters

David Bowie in "Labyrinth"

Jim Henson’s Labyrinth, which starred the Goblin King aka David Bowie in tights, will be returning to cinemas on April 29th, May 1st and May 2nd.

The screenings will feature a special introduction from Brian Henson and Jennifer Connelly who starred as Sarah in Labyrinth. An excerpt from The Storyteller, Henson’s acclaimed TV show, will also be an additional part of the screening.

Sony Pictures, the Jim Henson Company and Fathom Events have collaborated to screen the movie. Tickets are on sale via the Fathom website, where you can find which theaters will be participating.

In other Labyrinth news, the film is now set for a stage adaptation. In a Forbes interview, Brian Henson announced that work is underway on “a theatrical adaptation of the original movie for the stage.” He specified that it might not “necessarily [be performed on] Broadway, it could be for London’s West End, but it will be a stage show, a big theatrical version. It’s very exciting.”

He also elaborated more on the rumors of a Labyrinth sequel.

“We’re still excited about the idea of a sequel,” Henson said. “We are working on something, but nothing that’s close enough to say it’s about to be in pre-production or anything like that.”
