“Deadpool 2” Drops Final Trailer

Josh Brolin and Ryan Reynolds in "Deadpool 2"

Marvell have dropped several Deadpool 2 trailers over the past few months, but here is the final trailer before the movie is released on May 18th.

The new trailer shows more action and introduces us to several new characters for the first time. It looks as if Deadpool (Ryan Renalds) is putting together something of a supergroup (or rather a “super duper f***ing group”) to help take down the movie’s enemy, Cable (Josh Brolin).

The trailer has kept in trend with the previous teasers, reminding us the Deadpool movies do not take themselves too seriously. In the trailer, Deadpool makes a dig at the upcoming Avengers movie, Avengers: Infinity War, by referencing the movie’s super-villain, who is intent on wiping out half the universe. Deadpool jests: “Pump the hate breaks, Thanos.”

The unlikely superhero also makes a dig at DC, which has been criticized by Marvell fans for being too dark and depressing. In a quip against Cable, Deadpool says: “So dark — are you sure you’re not from the DC universe?”

The movie is expected to fair well at the box office. The original film grossed a whopping $783 million worldwide, which earned it the status of the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all time.
