Apple TV+ gave us another amazing show with Slow Horses, and they’re betting big on this acclaimed series. Gary Oldman and the rest of the cast will return for another ride after the streaming giant renewed this spy drama for Season 5.

Based on Mick Herron’s Slough House books, Slow Horses follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 due to their career-ending mistakes, led by their brilliant but irascible boss, the notorious Jackson Lamb.

The Oscar-winner Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, while the supporting cast includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Samuel West, Sophie Okonedo, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan, and Jonathan Pryce.

Season 5 of Slow Horses will be based on Herron’s book Spook Street, and it will see Slow Horses trying to figure out what’s behind a series of increasingly bizarre events occurring across the city after the resident tech nerd Roddy Ho starts dating a glamorous new girlfriend.

Slow Horses became quite a phenomenon following its premiere in April 2022, especially after Apple TV+ moved between seasons at such a rapid speed. It’s quite rare to see a modern TV show get a Season 5 renewal just 18 months after its initial debut, but Slow Horses managed to get it done, and it’s expected to return for Season 4 later this year.
