James Gunn and Ryan Reynolds Tease Deadpool/Guardians Crossover

Ryan Reynolds in "Deadpool"

In a Twitter exchange, Ryan Reynolds (star of Deadpool) and James Gunn (director of Guardians of the Galaxy) have hinted at a potential crossover.

Ryan Reynolds starred as Deadpool in the 2016 feature with the eponymous title. He also recently starred again in the 2018 sequel, which fans are describing as hilarious and better than the original in every aspect. The movie is currently rated a respectable 8.1/10 on IMDB.

James Gunn seemed to be among those who rated the movie and tweeted last weekend:

“Yesterday I finally saw Deadpool 2, which I loved, and also the brilliant Revenge. Two completely different, fantastic films – cinema’s alive!”

Ryan Reynolds saw the tweet and replied: “Thank you James! Crossover?”

Gunn followed up with a “Yes, please.”

Although the tone was light and teasing, we’re hoping that it could in fact be a possibility. In 2019, Disney and Fox are due to merge, meaning that Deadpool and the rest of the X-Men films will join the Guardians of the Galaxy family franchise.

We’re not saying a Deadpool and Guardians crossover is guaranteed, but it could happen and that’s definitely something.
