J.K. Rowling has announced that writing for the third Fantastic Beasts movie has officially begun.

On her official website, Rowling was asked in a Q&A what she is writing now. The Harry Potter author replied:

“I’ve just finished the fourth Galbraith novel, Lethal White, and I’m now writing the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts 3. After that I’ll be writing another book for children. I’ve been playing with the (non-Harry Potter/wizarding world) story for about six years, so it’s about time I get it down on paper.”

She has not revealed the details of the upcoming screenplay, but after the Fantastic Beasts 2 is released in November, we’re guessing we will be able to have a better shot at predicting.

The upcoming movie Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, will reunite Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) with Tina (Katherine Waterston) alongside other popular characters from the first movie.

The trailer also features the return of Hogwarts and a young Dumbledore. Newt and his friends face a dangerous mission after the wizarding world becomes further divided by Gridelwald’s escape.
