George Clooney and Brad Pitt’s new film Wolfs is yet to see the light of day, but Apple TV+ is betting big on its future. The streaming giant is giving this A-list project a one-week theatrical release, and they’ve already green-lit its sequel.
Wolfs centers on two fixers who prefer working alone, but their latest high-profile case forces them to join forces. The two “lone wolves” must work together covering up a major crime, while their night spirals out of control in ways that neither one of them expected.
In addition to Clooney and Pitt in lead roles, this action comedy will also star Amy Ryan, Austin Abrams, Poorna Jagannathan, Richard Kind, and Zlatko Burić. It hails from writer and director Jon Watts, who recently made a deal with Apple to return for a sequel. He’s also credited as one of the producers alongside Smokehouse Pictures’ Clooney and Grant Heslov and Plan B’s Pitt, Dede Gardner, and Jeremy Kleiner.
Wolfs will have its world premiere in the out-of-competition selection at the Venice International Film Festival. It will get a limited one-week theatrical release on September 20, before heading to Apple TV+ on September 27, after Apple decided to pivot from a wide theatrical release.
