“Dead to Me” Renewed for Season 2

Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini in "Dead to Me"

The dark comedy will be back for another season on Netflix

News of the renewal was confirmed Monday night during the show’s FYSee panel in Los Angeles by series creator Liz Feldman (2 Broke Girls).

Season two, like season one, will consist of 10 episodes and will see the return of Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini as Jen and Judy respectively. Feldman will return as showrunner.

The series centers on Jen (Applegate), a sardonic widow determined to solve her husband’s recent hit-and-run murder, and Judy (Cardellini) an optimistic free spirit who has recently suffered her own tragic loss.

When the two women meet at a support group, they become unlikely friends, despite their polar-opposite personalities. But as they bond, Judy desperately tries to shield Jen from a shocking secret that could destroy her life as she knows it.

Dead to Me also stars James Marsden, Ed Asner and Brandon Scott.

Season two of Dead to Me is scheduled to debut on the streaming service in 2020.
