"Watchmen"

New cast members have been added to HBO’s Watchmen pilot.

Yahya Adbul-Mateen II and Sara Vickers have both been added to the cast, although their characters have not yet been revealed.

Adbul-Mateen is also set to star as Black Manta in the upcoming Aquaman movie. He has previously appeared in Netflix series The Get Down, the recent Baywatch and The Greatest Showman.

Vickers has appeared in popular TV series including The Crown, Man Down and The Alienist.

The pair will be joining the cast so far which includes: Regina King, D Tom Mison, Johnson, Jeremy Irons, Jacob Ming-Trent, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Andrew Howard, Adelaide Clemens and Frances Fisher.

Damon Lindelof has said that he will not re-telling a story from the original graphic novel, but will be telling a new story which takes place in the Watchmen world. He will be reintroducing old characters as well as introducing new ones.

“Some of the characters will be unknown,” Lindelof wrote. “New faces. New masks to cover them. We also intend to revisit the past century of Costumed Adventuring through a surprising yet familiar set of eyes…and it is here we will be taking our greatest risks.”
