The Sherlock actor will take on the role of the Grinch in the new Dr. Seuss-inspired film which is set for release in November.
Illumination Entertainment who were behind the releases of Despicable Me! and the Minions Films have produced the movie.
The trailer introduced the grumpy nature of the Grinch character as well as his hate for the famous Pharrell song “Happy.”
The Grinch tells the story of a cynical group who go on a mission to steal Christmas to eventually have his heart changed by a young girls good holiday spirit. It has been directed by Scott Mosier and Yarrow Cheney with a script which has been penned by Michael LeSieur.
The Dr. Seuss classic encourages children to partake and embody the real spirit of Christmas.
This is definitely a must-watch movie with the family during the holiday season.
