This is the first Deadpool film in the MCU, and the new trailer is sprinkled with many Marvel references. It sees Wade Wilson joining forces with Wolverine to save the MCU, after being pulled from his timeline by the mysterious organization Time Variance Authority.
In addition to Reynolds, several Deadpool stars will reprise their roles in this film, including Morena Baccarin, Rob Delaney, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, and Brianna Hildebrand. They’ll be joined by Jackman, Emma Corrin, Matthew Macfadyen, and Jennifer Garner.
After being hit with several delays, Deadpool & Wolverine is officially coming to the theatres on July 26.

]]>Euphoria fans are blaming the most recent delay on its creator Sam Levinson. Production start had to be pushed because the scripts haven’t been finalized yet, but HBO claims they “remain committed to making an exceptional third season” alongside Levinson.
Since scripts are still in the work, HBO announced they’re allowing the show’s in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities in the interim. Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, and Sydney Sweeney emerged as the show’s biggest breakout stars since Euphoria first premiered while Colman Domingo scored an Oscar nomination and lined up several high-profile projects.
It remains unclear when Euphoria will start shooting again in the face of the most recent delay, but Deadline reports that filming is expected to begin within the next couple of months. Season 3 still doesn’t have an official release date, but HBO remains determined to bring it back in 2025.

]]>Avatar: The Last Airbender is set in a world divided by four elements, the Water Tribes, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Their world was in perfect harmony until the Fire Nation seized control and wiped out the Air Nomads from the face of the Earth.
Things finally take a turn for the better when a young airbender Aang reawakens after being frozen in ice for a hundred years. He has to do whatever it takes to master the four elements and take his rightful place as the next Avatar.
Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, and Ian Ousley lead the cast as Aang and his BFFs Katara and Sokko, alongside Daniel Dae Kim, Dallas Liu, and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee in supporting roles.
Avatar: The Last Airbender hit No. 1 on Netflix’s global TV list following its debut on February 22, with 154.4 million hours watched by 21.2 million viewers. Netflix’s three-season arc will follow the same structure as the original animated show that inspired it.

]]>Based on Rick Riordan’s hit book series of the same name, Percy Jackson and the Olympians chronicles the journey of the titular demigod, journeying across America with his best friends Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood in an attempt to restore order to Olympus.
Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri star as Percy, Annabeth, and Grover, while the supporting cast includes the likes of Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jay Duplass, and Lance Reddick.
Rick Riordan, who co-created this series for Disney+ alongside Jonathan E. Steinberg, is excited for the fans to see what the next chapter of this story has in store.
“I can’t wait to bring the next season of Percy Jackson to Disney+! Raise anchors. Hoist the mainsail. All hands on deck, demigods. We’re heading for the Sea of Monsters!” said Riordan in a statement.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians premiered on Disney+ on December 19, 2023, to positive reviews and attracted 26.2 million viewers across the three-week span.

]]>The post Apple TV+ Series “Slow Horses” is Returning for Season 5 appeared first on Entertainment For Us.
]]>Based on Mick Herron’s Slough House books, Slow Horses follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 due to their career-ending mistakes, led by their brilliant but irascible boss, the notorious Jackson Lamb.
The Oscar-winner Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, while the supporting cast includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Samuel West, Sophie Okonedo, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan, and Jonathan Pryce.
Season 5 of Slow Horses will be based on Herron’s book Spook Street, and it will see Slow Horses trying to figure out what’s behind a series of increasingly bizarre events occurring across the city after the resident tech nerd Roddy Ho starts dating a glamorous new girlfriend.
Slow Horses became quite a phenomenon following its premiere in April 2022, especially after Apple TV+ moved between seasons at such a rapid speed. It’s quite rare to see a modern TV show get a Season 5 renewal just 18 months after its initial debut, but Slow Horses managed to get it done, and it’s expected to return for Season 4 later this year.

]]>Past Lives came into the night as one of the most-nominated films and walked away with the ceremony’s most coveted accolade. It defeated the likes of Passages, Reality, Showing Up, and A Thousand and One to be named best feature at this year’s Gotham Awards.
As for Anatomy of a Fall, Justine Triet’s latest film emerged victorious in two categories. It defeated the likes of All of Us Strangers and Poor Things to walk away with the trophy for the best international feature, in addition to winning the award for best screenplay.
The TV field at this year’s Gotham Award included some worthy contenders, but none of them could stand their ground to Netflix’s Beef. This series won two awards: breakthrough series under 40 minutes and outstanding performance in a new series (Ali Wong)—while A Small Light was named the best breakthrough series over 40 minutes.
The Gotham Awards kicked off the award season on November 27, at the Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

]]>The post 2023 Gotham Awards Nominations Announced, “All Of Us Strangers” is Leading the Way appeared first on Entertainment For Us.
]]>All Of Us Strangers is in the running for best international feature, and it will have to beat Anatomy of a Fall, Poor Things, The Zone of Interest, and Tótem to take this trophy home. Past Lives has been nominated in the best feature field with Passages, Reality, Showing Up, and A Thousand and One, while Beef is the main contender in the TV categories.
2023 is shaping up to be the year of change for Gotham Awards, as the ceremony removed its $35 budget cap for the first time to create “a more inclusive submission pool” of nominees.
“We’re excited to include more voices from around the globe by expanding eligibility for the many brilliant international films and filmmakers who deserve to be in consideration this year. Additionally, with shifting budgets, we’ve decided to eliminate arbitrary budget caps for submission eligibility,” said Jeffrey Sharp, executive director of The Gotham Film & Media Institute in a statement.
Despite this major change, Gotham Awards are still the place where small indie movies will shine the brightest. We didn’t see many big-budget films make the cut, with the exception of Ryan Gosling’s nod for Barbie and Penélope Cruz’s nomination for Ferrari in the best supporting performance field.

]]>The post “American Fiction” Walks Away With People’s Choice Award at 2023 TIFF appeared first on Entertainment For Us.
]]>Voted by the public attending the screenings at TIFF, the People’s Choice Award is regarded as the starting gun of the Academy Award nominations race. Many of the previous winners went on to get nominations and even won the best picture Oscar, including Nomadland, Green Book, and 12 Years a Slave.
Time will tell if American Fiction will experience the same fate, but its success in Toronto is quite impressive regardless. It hails from the first-time feature director Cord Jefferson, who based this film on Percival Everett’s novel Erasure.
“My gratitude towards everyone who watched American Fiction [and] discussed it afterwards among friends and colleagues is endless. The film is now in your hands, and I’m so grateful that it was embraced in this way,” Jefferson said in a statement.
The festival’s opening film, Hayao Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron, was one of the two runners-up for the People’s Choice Award this year, along with Alexander Payne’s The Holdovers.

]]>Bernstein made a name for himself in Hollywood after writing scores for Broadway’s West Side Story and Marlon Brando’s film On the Waterfront, but his love life attracted as much attention as his work. His complex relationship with actress Felicia Montealegre spanned three decades, but he famously had countless affairs during their time together.
Maestro will chronicle “a towering and fearless love story” of the infamous couple, and Netflix describes it as “a love letter to life and art” and “an emotionally epic portrayal of family and love.”
The supporting cast of Maestro includes Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke, Sarah Silverman, Josh Hamilton, Scott Ellis, Gideon Glick, Sam Nivola, Alexa Swinton, and Miriam Shor. In addition to playing the lead role, Cooper also directed the film and co-wrote the script alongside the Oscar winner Josh Singer.
Maestro will have its world premiere at the Venice International Film Festival on September 2, before heading to theatres on November 22 and streaming on Netflix on December 20.

]]>Succession will come into the Emmy ceremony with impressive 27 nominations, including 14 in the main field. The final season of the acclaimed drama owes most of its nominations to its remarkable ensemble cast, and Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Nicholas Braun, Matthew Macfadyen, Alan Ruck, Alexander Skarsgård, and J. Smith-Cameron have all been recognized in their respective fields.
As for the rest of the best drama contenders, The Last of Us and The White Lotus will also be vying for the highly coveted award, along with Disney’s Andor, AMC’s Better Call Saul, Netflix’s The Crown, HBO’s House of the Dragon, and Showtime’s Yellowjackets.
Shifting to the comedy categories, it’s another big year for Ted Lasso, with an impressive tally of 21 nominations, including eight nods in the main categories. The race for the outstanding limited or anthology series will be pretty cramped, and Netflix’s Beef is leading the way with 13 nominations, including nine in the primary categories.
The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards are slated to take place on September 18, but the WGA strike looms as a potential disruptor and it’s possible that the ceremony date would shift.

]]>The post 2023 Emmy Nominations: HBO Leads the Way With “Succession”, “The Last of Us” & “The White Lotus” appeared first on Entertainment For Us.
