We will have to wait for Suicide Squad 2 a bit more it seems. The sequel to 2016’s Suicide Squad is being delayed again with no clear information on when production on the movie could begin. But the delay of DC’s villain mash-up could be a good thing, since it frees up space in Will Smith’s schedule.

Reportedly, Will Smith will now turn his attention to Bad Boys 3, and Sony has made the movie their top priority. The third installment in the Bad Boys franchise was postponed so many times that it seemed like it will never get to theaters.

But, after Black directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah took over the project, things look lot brighter. The movie will reunite Smith and Martin Lawrence and will begin with filming in November in Miami and Atlanta, and should wrap up early spring 2019. The expected release date is January 2020.

This won’t be everything from Will Smith during the Suicide Squad 2 break, since he will also film Netflix’s Bright 2 as soon as he finishes Bad Boys 3. Although 2017’s Bright received poor reviews from the critics, it was a massive success with the audience, and the streaming service decided to quickly begin work on the sequel. Besides Smith, Bright 2 will also see David Ayer returning to direct and taking over the writing from Max Landis.

While we wait for Bad Boys 3 and Bright 2, you will be able to see Will Smith in theaters in upcoming movies Aladdin and Gemini Man.
