Wendy Williams is set to take a break and focus on her hyperthyroidism and Graves disease.

The 53-year-old TV host revealed on her self-titled talk show on Wednesday that she was suffering from Graves which is an autoimmune disease in addition to the thyroid issues which she had been aware off.

The announcement comes after Williams had to cancel several shows last week because she had been suffering from “fluish” symptoms.

She told EW that “I do go to the doctors today to find out what exactly it is. I feel awful. I had to be talked out of going to work today and taking off a few days to get myself together.”

Williams fainted during the live broadcast of her show on Halloween. After this happened the show went to a commercial straightway but she managed to return after the break.

“It was scary,” she recalled, choking up. “It was really scary. It was so scary, all I could think of in the middle of the scare was, ‘Don’t pull the podium over on you because that’ll make it worse.’”
