Watch “The Kitchen” Trailer

Elisabeth Moss, Melissa McCarthy, and Tiffany Haddish in "The Kitchen"

Your first look of Melissa McCarthy, Tiffany Haddish, and Elisabeth Moss as 1970s criminals is here.

The first official trailer for Warner Bros’ The Kitchen dropped Thursday. In a summer dominated by comic book features, this Irish mob movie is definitely a cool breeze.

The Kitchen hails from writer-director Andrea Berloff and follows three New York City housewives in the 1970s who become Irish mobsters following their husbands’ arrest by the FBI.

McCarthy, Haddish and Moss star as the three housewives opposite their on-screen husbands and FBI agents Domhnall Gleeson, Bill Camp, Margo Martindale, Common, Brian d’Arcy James and James Badge Dale.

The trailer features the ladies as they struggle to make ends meet after their husbands’ arrests due to their involvement with the mob. But then they decide to take matters into their own hands, realizing that they can use their particular talents to better their situation.

“They have been telling us forever that we’re never gonna do anything but have babies,” says McCarthy’s Kathy.

Last summer, Berloff told Entertainment Weekly, “I was excited by the idea of placing women in a position and world in which we don’t normally see them.”

McCarthy added: “It’s about these individuals instead of the Mafia as an entity…There was much more humanity to it, which also made it scarier.”

The Kitchen hits theaters August 8th.
