Meet the Ned Flanders-Inspired Band That Played On “The Simpsons”

Okilly Dokilly, the Ned Flanders metal band that nobody asked for have finally made it into an episode of The Simpsons.

The weirdly wonderful band is a five-piece from Arizona and dress entirely in Ned Flanders-inspired clothing. They constantly reference the character’s lines and recently released a record called Howdilly Twodilly, which gained the attention of The Simpsons writers on the show.

The Arizona five-piece, who pay homage to Homer’s Christian do-gooder neighbor, describe their unique sound as “Nedal” and each dress up in Flanders’ attire. Their music also makes reference to some of the character’s best-known lines.

“Myself and everyone involved with Okilly Dokilly are so very honored,” Okilly Dokilly’s frontman said. “The fact that the ‘White Wine Spritzer’ video appeared on an episode of The Simpsons is still unreal to us. We are very excited and beyond humbled to have been a part of the show’s legacy.”

Executive Producer, Al Jean, added: “We saw the video and knew they had to be on the show. We do not endorse their message of indiscriminate drinking of white wine spritzers.”

The song was featured on Sunday’s (April 7) episode of the show.
