Almost three decades after the original Hocus Pocus came out, the Sanderson sisters are back for another magical ride! Disney+ dropped the first teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated sequel, and it sees Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy return as our favorite witches.

According to the official logline for this project, “It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th-century sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high-school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve.”

Whitney Peak, Belissa Escobedo, and Lilia Buckingham will play the teenagers who accidentally brought the Sanderson sisters back to life. The rest of the supporting cast will include Doug Jones (The Shape of Water), Hannah Waddingham (Ted Lasso), Tony Hale (Veep), and Sam Richardson (The Afterparty).

The first Hocus Pocus film premiered in 1993, and it went on to become a Halloween classic thanks to its annual airings on Disney around this holiday. Disney has been plotting the sequel since 2014, but they finally made things official in 2019, and Anne Fletcher came on board as a director two years later.

Hocus Pocus 2 will stream exclusively on Disney+ and it’s set to premiere on September 30.
