There’s been a lot of rumors surrounding Sam Mendes’ four-film event about The Beatles, and he finally confirmed the star-studded cast. Joseph Quinn, Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, and Harris Dickinson will star as the members of the legendary rock band in the four interconnected films about their lives.
After months of speculations about Mendes’ The Beatles films, the Oscar-winning director took the stage at Sony’s CinemaCon presentation to share some details about this project. He said he’s been trying to make a film about the Fab Four for years because they changed his understanding of music, and he considers them “the most significant band of all time.”
Mendes was joined by the star-studded cast of the four films – Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr, and Harris Dickinson as John Lennon. Rumors of their casting have been circling around for months, but this was the first time they officially confirmed them.
The principal photography on The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event will take a year, and all four films are set for an April 2028 release. Sam Mendes described the four films as “the first bingable theatrical experience” and promised that each film will give us a chance to understand them more deeply.
