“Shrill” Gets Third Season Renewal

Aidy Bryant in "Shrill"

Shrill has been renewed for a third season at Hulu.

News that the show co-created by Aidy Bryant and Lindy West will be back for another season comes two months after the launch of season 2 on the steamer.

Based on the book Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman by West, Shrill follows Annie (Bryant), a fat young woman who wants to change her life — but not her body.

In season 1, Annie tried to start her career in journalism while juggling bad boyfriends, a sick parent, and a perfectionist boss. After facing her demons, Annie started season 2 feeling pretty good with her boyfriend Ryan (Luka Jones) by her side. But she realized that hastily quitting her job and jumping into a relationship with someone who is a little less career-focused may not have been the best idea.

Shrill also stars Lolly Adefope, Luka Jones, John Cameron Mitchell, Ian Owens, and Patti Harrison.
