Hulu has unveiled the first trailer for its upcoming series based on the Sally Rooney novel.
The one minute, 36 seconds clip gives us a sneak peek at Marianne (Daisy Edgar-Jones) and Connell (Paul Mescal), two high schoolers who become secret lovers. Their relationship then becomes much more complicated as the years go on and the two head off to college.
“My favorite scenes from the book generally took the form of conversations between the two protagonists—in abandoned houses, in apartment kitchens, in cars, and in bed,” Rooney said of the television adaption to Vanity Fair. “I’m excited to see those dynamics beginning to unfold in a new way on the screen.”
