The Scream franchise is set to make its return.

The fifth iteration of the slasher movie franchise has found its directors — Ready or Not filmmakers Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett.

The original horror pic starring Neve Campbell debuted in 1996. The film directed by Wes Craven from a script by Kevin Williamson was followed by three sequels released in 1997, 2000 and 201, which collectively earned $608 million in worldwide box office.

The reboot of Scream is being developed by Spyglass Media Group. There are currently no plot details and it is unclear whether the forthcoming fifth iteration will be a reboot or a continuation of the story.

The original horror film starred Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott as the target of the Ghostface killer.
