Now that Batman has a face (or at least a chin), we are finally getting some details about the new film(s) that await us.

Warner Bros. confirmed last week that Robert Pattinson would be taking over the role of the Caped Crusader from Ben Affleck.

The Twilight actor follows a long list of actors who have portrayed Bruce Wayne, including Affleck, Christian Bale, George Clooney, Michael Keaton, and Val Kilmer.

According to Deadline, Pattinson will be playing Batman in a trilogy directed by Matt Reeves, who recently brought us Planet of the Apes.

While speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Reeves described the upcoming films as “more Batman in his detective mode that we’ve seen in the films. The comics have a history of that. [Bruce Wayne] is supposed to be the world’s greatest detective, and that’s not necessarily been a part of what the movies have been.”

The first feature of the trilogy, due out in 2021, is currently titled The Batman.

“What it will be called ultimately, I don’t know,” Reeves said.
