Robert Downey Jr. is Ready for Sherlock Holmes 3, Are You?

After numerous delays and conflicting reports about its future, Sherlock Holmes 3 looks like it could finally be on its way. Back in May, Warner Bros. confirmed that the movie is scheduled for release on n December 25, 2020, with both Robert Downey Jr and Jude Law reprising their roles of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson respectively.

Now, Downey is slowly entering the character and preparing for the role. How do we know this? Well, the 53-year-old actor told everyone.

He tweeted a .gif from one of previous Sherlock Holmes movies and teased the fans with the caption: “Practicing my Sherlock face.” Check out the tweet below.

After 2009’s Sherlock Holmes and its sequel, 2011’s Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows, became big commercial hits, Warner Bros. began works on the third installment in the series. Still, over the years, the movie got stuck in development with both Downey and Law openly questioning the studio’s willingness to do Sherlock Holmes 3. Reportedly, the main problem was in the script.

Finally, in May 2018, the studio announced that the movie is finally moving forward and that Narcos creator Chris Brancato is hired to write the script. It remains unclear whether Guy Ritchie, who directed previous two films, will return for Sherlock Holmes 3.
