Who wouldn’t want to see Peter Griffin and his family on the big screen, right? Well, this might come true sooner than later, since there is reportedly a Family Guy movie with live-action elements being developed by Fox’s animation team. This was revealed in the latest report about Fox and Disney merger by the Wall Street Journal.
According to WSJ, besides a Family Guy movie, several other projects based on Fox’s animated series are in the works including “a big-screen adaptation” of Bob’s Burgers and sequel to 2007’s The Simpsons Movie.
Although this all sounds pretty exciting, there is a good chance we might end up not seeing either of these movies.
Following the acquisition by Disney, there is a lot of uncertainty surrounding Fox and their projects. After the merger is completed, Disney will have the final word on everything, and we still don’t know how the studio feels about the specific kind of humor that made Family Guy such a popular show.
It looks like we will have to wait and see if Family Guy movie and other projects by Fox’s animation get to survive these turbulent times. We certainly hope they will.
