There has been talk over the last few months suggesting that Priyanka Chopra could be set to make a return to Bollywood after an almost three-year absence.

It has now been confirmed that she will be making her comeback to Indian production in the Salman Khan-starred Bharat.

Speaking about the project, Chopra said: “Bharat is the quintessential Bollywood movie, which I haven’t done in many years. A lot of them were dramatic and thematic. This one’s going to be out and out entertainment. I’m excited! I haven’t been back to do a movie in two or three years now.”

The films director Ali Abbas Zafar announced on April 18th that Priyanka would be one of the leads in the movie.

“I feel she is an extremely talented actor and she has proved that over a period of time with a lot of films. [Also] What’s really important is that the character of the girl in the film is very strong and we wanted to cast a very strong actor, who can do justice to that role,”  Ali said during an interview with the Hindustan Times.
