Premiere Date for Netflix Show “Disenchantment” is Set

Netflix has set the release date for Matt Groening’s adult animated comedy series Disenchantment.

The show marks Groening’s return to television and the first 10 episodes will be released on August 17th.

The show is set in the kingdom of Dreamland which is in a state of chaos. It follows the life of princess named Bean, who enjoys indulging in alcohol, as well as her companion named Elfo who happens to be an Elf who has a demon named Luci.

Bean will be voiced by Abbi Jacobson from Broad City while Elfo and Luci will be voiced by Nat Faxon, who in 2011 claimed a best adapted screenplay Oscar for The Descendants.

Other prominent voice actors who will be part of the production in support roles include Futurama’s John DiMaggio, Billy West, Maurice LaMarche, David Herman, Tress MacNeille, Jeny Batten, Rich Fulcher, Noel Fielding and Lucy Montgomery.

The official summary for Disenchantment states: “In Disenchantment, viewers will be whisked away to the crumbling medieval kingdom of Dreamland, where they will follow the misadventures of hard-drinking young princess Bean, her feisty elf companion Elfo and her personal demon Luci,”

“Along the way, the oddball trio will encounter ogres, sprites, harpies, imps, trolls, walruses and lots of human fools.”
