Jessica Goldberg and Amy Poehler have teamed up to reimagine Hepworth’s story for the small screen. NBC has handed a put pilot commitment to the drama.
According to Deadline, The Mother-In-Law centers on a woman’s complicated relationship with her husband’s family that ends in death. It’s a mystery that explores motherhood, class, race and just how dangerous family secrets can be.
Jessica Goldberg will write the adaptation with Amy Poehler executive producing alongside Kate Arend via Paper Kite Productions. Both Poehler and Goldberg will produce.
