The fans of USA Network’s hit series Mr. Robot are finally getting some details about the show’s highly anticipated fourth and final season.

The series’ creator Sam Esmail recently spoke about season four at the Tribeca Film Festival and compared it to Christmas Specials that are usually seen in British TV shows.

“Typically how [British shows] wrap up series, like the British [version of The] Office, you tend to do a Christmas special. So the final season of Mr. Robot is one very long Christmas special that will last about a week over Christmas of 2015,” Esmail told the audience at Tribeca Talks.

When asked about the direction of Mr. Robot’s final season, Esmail said that he and the writers continued to let the current events and relevant things “inspire” them like in season one.

“Part of the reason people connected to the show is we wanted to talk about now,” he continued. “The show is still set in 2015 for this reason. The technology will always look dated, but we specifically said, this is about 2015, so it’s almost like a period piece for current day.”

Mr. Robot premiered in 2015 and focuses on a young cybersecurity engineer and hacker Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek) who joins a group of hacktivists called “fsociety” whose goal is to take down an evil and corrupted company. The show met with widespread critical acclaim and has won numerous awards including Golden Globe for Best Television Drama Series and Peabody Award. Besides Malek, the series also stars Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday, Christian Slater, and Martin Wallström among others.
