Guardians of the Galaxy 2 offered us a great story, action, lots of giggles, but also some sad moments. One of those was the death of Yondu, who became a fan favorite of the series. But all is not lost, since actor Michael Rooker, who portrayed Yondu in the first two movies, offered fans a bit of hope that they could see the character in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

During his appearance at Salt Lake City’s FanX convention, Rooker said that he would love to get back to this character in Guardians of the Galaxy 3.

“It depends on how much I got paid. Of course, I would totally love to do it again, it would be awesome,” the 63-year-old said.

Talking further about the topic, Michael Rooker offered some ideas on how Yondu could resurrect from the dead.

“No, I’m just saying. I’m not giving any hints right now. I’m just saying that Yondu has moved on… There’s this arrow and it flew off into space. It’s going somewhere right? I mean, right? Don’t you think? If it’s going it could, maybe, perhaps one day come back. Hint! That’s a hint, Marvel!” – he added.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 director and writer James Gunn previously said that Yondu’s death is final and that the character won’t be back as long as he is the director. But, Gunn was recently fired from Guardians of the Galaxy 3, so everything is on the table right now. We know one thing; fans would welcome Yondu and his arrow with arms wide open.
