Jared Harris has been cast in the Spider-Man spinoff Morbius at Sony Pictures.

Harris will star opposite Jared Leto, who plays the titular Marvel comic book villain, Dr. Michael Morbius, turned antihero. Harris’ role is being kept under wraps, as well as all other roles.

According to Deadline, the infamous biochemist, created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Gil Kane, first debuted in the 1970s The Amazing Spider-Man #101 issue. In the comics, Dr. Morbius is a Nobel Prize-winning biochemist who is transformed into a vampire while attempting to cure a rare blood disease.

The spinoff is directed by Daniel Espinosa from a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmachm and Lucas Foster are producing.

Harris’ other credits are many, but is perhaps best known for his roles on Mad Men and The Crown. He also starred in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows.
