I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot is officially happening, and its cast will be as amazing as it gets. Camila Mendes and Madelyn Cline will lead the new version of the ’90s slasher classic alongside Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers, and Jonah Hauer-King.
Last Summer starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Ryan Phillippe as a group of friends stalked by a hook-wielding killer after they tried to cover up by hitting him with their car. It was credited with revitalizing the slasher genre during the 90s and produced two sequels and the Amazon Prime Video television series.
A new version of this story is now on the way, with Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge) coming on board as a director. She co-wrote the script with Sam Lansky after an initial draft from Leah McKendrick.
Riverdale alum Camila Mendes was cast in one of the lead roles, after collaborating with Robinson on Do Revenge. She’ll be joined by the Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline, whose recent credits include Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and Boy Erased.
The rest of the cast includes Jonah Hauer-King, who got his big break as Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid, the Tony-nominated Sarah Pidgeon, who starred in The Wilds and Tiny Beautiful Things, and Tyriq Withers, whose credits include Tell Me Lies and The Game.
