Hunter Parrish to Star in Jane the Virgin Spinoff

Jane the Novela has found its male lead. 

Weeds alum, Hunter Parrish, has joined The CW’s Jane the Virgin spinoff series. Parrish has been tapped to star as the series’ male lead opposite Jacqueline Grace Lopez in the pilot. 

Jane the Novela hails from Jane creator Jennie Snyder Urman and star Gina Rodriguez. The spinoff is penned by Jane scribe Valentina Garza and will be directed by Jane helmer Brad Silberling. 

According to TVLine, Parrish will play Felix, a rich kid who co-owns a Napa Valley vineyard with his mother Renata (Marcia Cross). He catches the eye of local art curator Estela (Jacqueline Grace Lopez), who also happens to be dating the winery’s head of security. Per the character’s official description, Felix “is Napa’s most eligible bachelor and heir apparent to his family’s winery. But though Felix’s future looks bright, he is tortured by the secrets of his past.”
