“How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days” Comes Back as a TV Show

Every romantic comedy lover’s favorite, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, will get a reboot pretty soon.

As the Los Angeles Times reports, an upcoming mobile-based streaming platform Quibi is behind the TV‌ adaptation of this famous film. The show’s official synopsis reads that new series “follows a glib young online columnist and an oversexed advertising executive who both need to prove, once and for all, they’re capable of being monogamous. They soon discover, however, keeping a relationship is harder than Andie Anderson made it look!”

The series is written by Guy Branum, who’s worked on Awkward and The Mindy Project before. Branum tweeted about the news on August 1st, writing that Quibi and Paramount have agreed to let him work on the series despite “print media is dead and RomCom ladies have to work at magazines.”

In the original movie, we see Andie (played by Kate Hudson) going out of her way to have a horrible date with Matthew McConaughey’s character in order to write an article titled “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

It’s still not known when the show will air, but it’s likely to happen around April 2020, because that’s when Quibi is set to launch.
