The BET Awards were created to celebrate the contribution of African Americans and African minorities to the entertainment industry.
The event kicked off with an incredible performance from Cardi B and saw some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry gather at the prestigious red carpet event.
In addition to the music awards, a handful of awards were given to the actors, actresses and directors who have offered their talents to the film and TV industry.
