Heartstopper is one of the most beloved coming-of-age series in recent memory, and its final chapter is just around the corner. Nick and Charlie’s love story will soon come to an end, after Netflix announced a feature-length film based on the final Heartstopper novel instead of renewing the series for Season 4.

Netflix’s Heartstopper film will take place after the events of Season 3, and it will see Nick and Charlie dealing with the ups and downs of a long-distance relationship, as Nick prepares to leave for university. It will also see the rest of their friends confronting the bittersweet challenges of growing up and moving on.

Kit Connor and Joe Locke will be back as Nick and Charlie, while the rest of the cast is yet to be announced. Yasmin Finney, Tobie Donovan, Jenny Walser, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Rhea Norwood, and Olivia Colman will most likely reprise their respective roles from the original series.

Alice Oseman, the writer of the Heartstopper graphic novel series, is returning to pen the script for the final movie. She said she’s “so grateful to everyone who has worked hard to make this possible and to the incredible fans of Heartstopper for [their] patience and passion.”
