HBO Max is currently plotting a new Batgirl movie with Leslie Grace taking the titular role, and they just gave us an epic sneak peek. The young actress shared the first look at her Batgirl costume and she truly looks straight out of a comic book.
The sneak peek shows Grace posing in a purple and gold crime-fighting attire, reminiscent of Batgirls’ signature comic book costume. Her hairstyle also draws from the comic book version of the character since she’s seen rocking her signature red hair.
Grace also posted a caption that perfectly captures the voice of the character, reading “I use their expectations against them. That will be their weakness. Not mine. Let them all underestimate me… And when their guard is down, and their pride is rising, let me kick their butts.”
Batgirl will also star J.K. Simmons as James Gordon, Brendan Fraser as Firefly, and Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman. This won’t be the first movie to see Keaton return as Batman, since he’s also set to reprise his iconic role in The Flash.
Batgirl kicked off production in late November in Glasgow. Its official release date is yet to be confirmed, but it’ll most likely premiere on HBO Max later this year.
