After years in the making, Thor: Love and Thunder is hitting the theaters this summer, and we finally know what it will have in store. Marvel recently dropped the trailer for this highly-anticipated blockbuster and they’re promising one wild ride.

The epic trailer plays out to be beat of Guns N’ Roses’ megahit “Sweet Child o’ Mine”, and it opens up with a voiceover by Thor (Chris Hemsworth), saying: “These hands were once used for battle, now they’re but humble tools for peace. I need to figure out exactly who I am”.

Despite his pacifist tendencies, Thor must face another major threat before his “superheroing days are over”. The God Butcher (Christian Bale) is trying to eliminate all gods, and Thor joins forces with some of his past allies in an attempt to stop him.

Natalie Portman appears in the trailer as Jane Foster aka The Mighty Thor, wielding Mjolnir for the first time. Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, and the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy, including Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, and Karen Gillan, are also set to make a comeback.

Thor: Love and Thunder serves as a follow-up to Thor: Ragnarok, both directed by Taika Waititi, and it will be released on July 8.
