Another series is cutting its season short.
Multiple outlets confirm that Empire is cutting short its final season due to the Coronavirus virus.
The sixth and final season of Empire was scheduled to run for 20 episodes, however, due to the production shutdown, only 18 episodes were completed, which means that episode 18 will now serve as the series finale. According to Deadline, producers are expected to weave some of the footage from episode 19 into the now series finale to “create a more seamless overall ending.”
Empire stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard as the leads.
