The still untitled feature about the life of The King from director Baz Luhrmann has an official release date.

Multiple outlets report that the Elvis Presley biopic starring Austin Butler will hit theaters October 1, 2021. Warner Bros made the announcement Friday three weeks after setting Austin Butler as the feature’s headliner.

The studio describes the biopic as a story that will “delve into their complex dynamic spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and the loss of innocence in America.”

Luhrmann also co-wrote the script with Craig Pearce.

In more scheduling news, Warner Bros pushed the Dune adaptation back one month to December 18, 2020.
