Fast X kept the audiences on the edge of their seats and delivered one of the biggest shockers with Dwayne Johnson’s end-credit cameo. The action superstar now confirmed he’ll officially return as Luke Hobbs in an untitled Fast & Furious spin-off.

Johnson took to social media to announce the exciting news, making it clear that his Fast X cameo wasn’t just a one-time thing. Chris Morgan is writing a standalone movie that puts Luke Hobbs front and center, and Johnson could potentially return in the Fast X sequel, as well.

Johnson also addressed his feud with the Fast & Furious leading man Vin Diesel in his video and said they put their differences aside because they don’t want to disappoint the fans.

“The north star is always my guiding light in whatever endeavor or opportunity that I am in… In this case, the north star is the franchise that we love, the north star are characters we love, and the north star are the fans that we love. When you add all that up, it’s really not a hard decision to make,” said Johnson.

Johnson’s upcoming Luke Hobbs movie isn’t expected to serve as a direct sequel to Hobbs & Shaw, the 2019 spin-off which also starred Jason Statham, Idris Elba, Vanessa Kirby, and Eiza González.
