“Six seasons and a movie” started as one of Community’s most beloved running jokes, only to turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy. Community: The Movie is officially happening, and here’s everything you should know about this highly-anticipated project.
Creative Team
Community: The Movie is being developed by Sony Pictures Television and Universal Television, and it will premiere on NBC’s digital platform Peacock. Community creator Dan Harmon and Andrew Guest are writing the script and executive producing it alongside Joel McHale, Russ Krasnoff, and Gary Foster.
Cast Members
Community: The Movie will see original cast members Joel McHale, Danny Pudi, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Jim Rash, and Ken Jeong return to their respective roles from the series. That most likely won’t be the case with Chevy Chase, Donald Glover, and Yvette Nicole Brown, who left the show in earlier seasons.
What to Expect?
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but it’s safe to expect the movie will feature a bunch of meta jokes and pop culture references, just like the original show. It’s difficult to imagine Community without Greendale even after most of the characters went their separate ways, so it’s likely they’ll reunite at the community college that brought them together.
