Freddie Mercury. Elton John. And now Boy George.

The trio is recognized as some of the best and most extravagant musicians of their time, but what they also have in common are biopics about their lives.

Rami Malek past year portrayed the Queen frontman in Bohemian Rhapsody, winning himself an Academy Award for Best Actor.

Critics have also praised Rocketman, which has seen Taron Egerton provide a gritty performance of John during the “Tiny Dancer” singer’s hey-day, when he was involved in drugs and alcohol.

The latest to join the biopic bunch is the lead singer of the Culture Club — Boy George.

The currently untitled film will follow the flamboyant frontman’s childhood in a working class Irish family to his rise to stardom along with the group in the 1980s.

Directing duties have been given to Sacha Gervasi, who recently helmed the HBO series Anvil: The Story of Anvil.

No production date has been announced as yet.
