Chris Hemsworth reveals he “almost pulled out” of Ghostbusters right before filming began.

The 35-year-old Avengers: Endgame star revealed that he almost didn’t appear in the film because he was unsure about the role of Kevin.

“The night before I was shooting, I almost pulled out,” Hemsworth told Variety. “Three or four weeks prior, Paul [Feig] said to me, ‘I’m going to write up the character. Don’t worry.’ And then I got the script and nothing had changed.”

Feig the director assured Hemsworth that there’s more to the character — to be done through improvisation, an opportunity for the actor to show off his comedic talent.

“I was really scared walking onto that set,” Hemsworth added. “I had no real plan, so I was just feeding off of them, and I just felt ridiculous. So I used that.”

Hemsworth starred opposite costars Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Kristen Wiig, and Leslie Jones. The film, despite the backlash it received from fans, was a box office success, raking in $128 million at the US box office and $229 million worldwide.
