Box Office: “Terminator: Dark Fate” Opens to $28 Million

The newest installment in the Terminator franchise is not having a good weekend. 

According to estimates, the sixth Terminator movie, Terminator: Dark Fate is looking to open to $28 million opening weekend at 4,086 North American locations. 

With forecasts estimated in the $40 million range and with a price tag of $185 million (some even say $196 million), it’s not looking box office good for the film. 

Battling for second place is Disney’s Maleficent: Mistress of Evil and Joker which are in their third and fifth weekends respectively. Joker is expected to hit the 297 million in domestic grosses mark by the weekend’s end. 

Harriet Tubman biopic Harriet is coming in third hauling between $10 million and $11 million at 2,059 sites. It is followed by The Addams Family, Arctic Dogs and Motherless Brooklyn with $7.2 and $2-3 million respectively.
