The newest Marvel blockbuster has taken cinemas all over the world by storm and has already earned over $700 million.

Starring Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, the movie has impressed critics, Marvel fans and the average cinema-goer alike. Viewers are claiming that they loved the movie so much they have already been to see it twice.

Black Panther takes Afro-futurism and gives it a blockbuster. Director Ryan Coogler has created a movie which is stylistically unique but is equally accessible to the mainstream. The diversity, depth and intricate action sequences make the feature standout over the seventeen previous Marvel Blockbusters. This could be why its earnings have slowly climbed above Marvel favorites like Guardians of the Galaxy and is the third highest grossing only after The Avengers movies.

Will Black Panther stay ahead of its rivals and break into the $1 billion club? The high praise it has been receiving and the speed at which word of mouth travels would suggest it might. The movie is still out in the US and UK, which has sold the most tickets outside the US. It hasn’t even been released in Japan or China yet, so it certainly looks possible – only time will tell.
