“Black Panther” Becomes the Most Tweeted About Movie in History

In addition to breaking a number of box office records, Black Panther has also become the most tweeted about movie in history.

Black Panther has overtaken the likes of Star Wars: The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, with over 35 million tweets made about it.

The most used hashtags have beenĀ #BlackPanther, #Wakanda and #WakandaForever.

Musician Kendrick Lamar holds the record for having the most re-tweeted tweet about Black Panther.Ā  Lamar wrote “Black Panther The Album 2/9,” on Twitter which has since been retweeted over 240,000 times.


The movie, which is the first Marvel blockbuster to be directed by a black American, managed to gross a record-breakingĀ $201.8 million during its first week.

After just 26 days, Black Panther went on to earn more thanĀ $1 billion at the box office and it has been at the top of the box office charts for the past five weeks in a row.
